The subject I have chosen for my creative campaign is video game user interfaces and how video games display information to the player through the use of a heads-up display. For my final micro-macrocosm piece I will be designing a user interface for a flight simulation game that utilizes Edward Tufte’s five envisioning information design theories and will showcase it running in unreal engine 4. The target audience would be gamers, a group typically associated with young males and the purpose of the piece would be to display important information to the player through a clean user interface that is easy to understand and interpret.

Colour will play an important role in the UI I plan to create. Green-yellow-red is a scale often used to depict good to bad for various things. This is because green is typically associated with health and life and red is associated with death and danger while yellow is the middle ground in-between. The fuel and health for the ship will be displayed using this green to red scale. Both the fuel and health will be displayed to the player through a bar that appears green when it is full however will slowly turn yellow as it depletes and then eventually to red once it depletes fully.
