This is my draft poster design created in Adobe illustrator. For this design I have combined the two drawings I created in blog post three in order to create a message about video game addiction. The mans brain being a video game controller suggests that all he thinks about is playing games and thus is losing his humanity and becoming more like a machine, this is backed up by the text “Hello World”, a phrase typically used by computer algorithms. For the final poster design I plan on keeping the shapes relatively the same as they are now as I quite like the simplistic 2D look of the head and the brain and I think if I tried to add more details such as facial features or making them look more 3D I would only end up making it look messy and overly complicated. For the draft poster I have mostly only used black and white however for the final poster I plan on experimenting with the colours in order to make it pop and stand out. One of the main ideas I have for the final poster is to have another wire coming out from the bottom of the controller which would come out of the mans mouth and lead to a headset, which would be surrounding the words “Hello World”. The words coming out of the headset represent that “Hello World” is what the man is thinking and hearing within his head. I also decided to add a border around the image as I felt as though it focuses the viewers attention towards the center of the image while also taking up any empty space that would have otherwise surrounded the poster. I created this border by having the bottom layer of the page be completely black and then creating an oval shape using the ellipse tool and then placing everything else on top of the white oval.
